In family therapy, the initial sessions are focused on building trust, clarifying goals, and establishing a collaborative foundation with all family members. I work with families with children ages eight and above; if your child is younger, please feel free to reach out so we can determine the most appropriate course of treatment. Depending on our goals, I may meet individually or in smaller configurations (such as parent-child or sibling dyads) to support the overall process. I actively gather feedback from family members throughout our work to ensure alignment and continued progress.
In my family therapy work, I take a resilience-focused approach that emphasizes the unique strengths of each family system. Together, we explore differences in meaning-making, improve communication, and build compassion-both between family members and within the self. I incorporate psychoeducation to support healthy communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building strategies. Drawing from Structural Family Therapy, I help families examine roles, rules, and boundaries that may be contributing to distress. Your family’s history, cultural identity, and values are central to this process, as we work collaboratively to shift dysfunctional patterns and cultivate greater closeness, connection, and support.
