Individual Therapy

Structure of Sessions

I work with individuals 14 and above. The initial stages of individual treatment is focused on building a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients. I have found this to be instrumental to the progress that we make in session. We then explore the presenting issues that bring you in and collaborate on a treatment plan that is aimed at achieving your goals and maintaining progress over time. To ensure that you achieve your mental health goals, I will be collecting feedback when appropriate.

  • Anxiety (Performance Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety)
  • Panic attacks
  • Depression (including high-functioning depression)
  • Work-related/academic stress
  • Perfectionism
  • Cultural and multicultural issues
  • Life transitions
  • Relationship challenges
  • Trauma
  • Attachment wounds
  • Challenges with self-worth, self-esteem, self-image, confidence
  • Immigration-related challenges (1st and 2nd generation)
  • Grief
  • Disability and/or chronic illness
  • Isolation/Loneliness


Interventions

I utilize evidence-based treatment models such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma-focused CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy to treat symptoms, depending on your presentation and what works best for you. Treatment planning will always be a collaborative process.
